Air travel is vital for the continued prosperity of the EU economy and is predicted to grow significantly over the next 20 years. The challenge facing aviation is to meet the predicted growth in demand in a way that ensures that the environment is protected. This new MSc programme provides courses on the fundamental disciplines that are of prime importance for developing new enabling technologies vital to the design of more environmentally friendly future aircraft, and offers multi-disciplinary training in aircraft technologies for reducing environmental impact and life-cycle costs.

简介
The Advanced Chemical Engineering (ACE) course allows students to undertake advanced study in chemical engineering coupled with appropriate background study in basic sciences, mathematics and computing techniques, while the specialised MSc streams (BIO, PSE or SPE) give you the opportunity to explore one area of chemical engineering in more depth.

The Biotechnology course provides a firm foundation in the science and engineering of biological processes, ranging from metabolic engineering and tissue engineering to wastewater treatment.

简介
The Process Systems Engineering (PSE) course allows students to develop an understanding of the mathematics relevant to systems engineering and gives an advanced treatment of control theory, modelling, and design and management techniques, along with their application to the field of process systems engineering.

简介
The Structured Product Engineering (SPE) course affords an in-depth study of the behaviour of structured products and of the interplay between structure, processing and properties.

简介
This course provides advanced training in computational methods, the underlying physical principles, and appropriate experimental techniques for aeronautics and other sectors. It is suitable for applicants who wish to enhance their engineering training or to convert to an advanced engineering discipline from backgrounds in mathematics, physics or computer science. You will develop specialist skills that are attractive to a broad spectrum of both aerospace and non-aerospace engineering industries. Through links with industry, it is possible for projects to be supervised in part by staff from industry or to be carried out in industry.

简介
This taught postgraduate course offers you the opportunity to study a wide variety of topics in depth with dedicated experts. It is aimed at students who have a substantial background in computing and who want to study advanced computing concepts and technologies in more depth. This course is suitable for students who are primarily interested in a career orientated towards development and applications in industry, while the MRes is aimed at students interested in a research career either in the industrial or academic sector.

简介
This MSc is a stand-alone qualification designed to prepare students to solve problems in materials science and engineering under the exacting conditions we encounter today. The programme is broad, covering many aspects of both the science of materials and engineering applications, and includes course work and original research components.

简介
The MSc course provides students with a knowledge and understanding of the ‘state-of-the-art’ in one or more of the many areas of mechanical engineering in which the Department has acknowledged expertise. This combines with the potential for students to develop their abilities in subjects such as numerical analysis and signal processing, which are useful in all areas of mechanical engineering and are associated with the application of computers in engineering practice. The principal component of the course is the individual project, which is usually associated with current research activity or industrial consultancy, allowing you to gain substantial expertise in one particular area. Further expertise is developed by taking taught course modules. Students can study an unusually broad range of subjects in the Department as a result of our position as one of the largest university engineering departments in the UK. The success of the course can be measured by the large proportion of graduates who go on to find appropriate and challenging posts in industry, government, and universities at home and abroad.

Why should I do this course? This degree provides future integrated circuit (IC) designers with in-depth knowledge of analogue, mixed signal and digital circuits. You will gain experience in both the practical issues of device-level design and system-level performance requirements. About the MSc in Analogue and Digital Integrated Circuit Design A key feature is the balanced approach to both analogue and digital IC design, and the in-depth treatment of low power circuits and embedded systems. We cover issues that are related to digital system design using modern programming languages, to embedded systems and their OS, to the design of high performance systems based on GPUs and FPGAs, to the design of low power and high performance analogue circuits, as well as issues related to communication of systems (optical and RF) and to MEMS and nanotechnology.
